Looking for a great date spot, can be more challenging than doing my taxes. After all, I have one shot to impress my client or date. One thing I learned, provide a very memorable experience and ambiance.
The “roller coaster” restaurant serves food on roller coaster railing. This itself is a great conversation piece. As I have told many restaurant owners, great food only play a small part of a successful restaurant.
Customers can also check their email and learn about the ingredients such as the beef used in their dishes from the computer screen.
Think about the water cooler conversation at the office.
Jim: How did that date go last night?
Pam: Unbelievable. My chicken potato pot roast arrived on roller coaster railing. Check out my photos.
Viral loop. In the social media world, this is called a viral loop. Once Pam post her food picture on Facebook, her friend Jim will see the picture and take his Carla. Then Jim and Carla will post the picture on Facebook and it continues to grow organically. This is how social media such as Facebook and YouTube grew, virally.
Marketing. Although it is costly for the restaurant to set up the roller coaster railing, innovative products create natural word of mouth advertising. They don’t have to rely on flyers or advertising budget. Again, whenever you can, always differentiate and create a word of mouth strategy.
If you own a restaurant, ask yourself
IS MY FOOD or RESTAURANT WORTH TALKING ABOUT?
For personal branding
WHAT ABOUT MYSELF IS WORTH TALKING ABOUT? (humor, expert in industry, special skill)
Case Examples.
