Back in June, I visited Scharffen Berger in Berkeley with some buddies. (Read Scharffen Berger post). Feeling just like a character from Charlie the Chocolate Factory, the nutty smell from fresh made chocolate hit the spot. A remarkable tour featuring chocolate tasting and history made it fun.

Sadly, Hershey, who bought the artisan chocolate maker in 2005 is now closing down the manufacturing plant. ( Read Scharffen Berger SFGate article)
