Fatburger at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe: hamburger that was underseasoned and underdressed

Eating a great burger is just like riding Space Mountain roller coaster at Disneyland. First, there is anticipation for something thrilling. The speed, mysterious out of space ambiance, and lively screams add to the experience. The ride itself is memorable.

But after visiting Fatburger at Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe, my experience made me feel as if I just gotten off a slow tug boat. Claiming to be “the Last Great Hamburger Stand” is a major feat, and their product under delivered. Seemingly at first glance, the fast food restaurant appeared to be promising. Stainless steel counters, an easy to order menu, and fresh ingredients heightened my senses.

One bite into the burger, the tender meat started the symphony but the over the top tart notes from the pickle started the decline. Served at a muddled temperature, the volcanic heat from the searing grill was absent.

The unseasoned beef and under dressed buns made the experience a ride not worth even getting on. Instead, I advise to taste In N Out burgers. They dress their burgers in a wonderful sweet and semi-sour dressing that opens the appetite.

TIP: We were smart. Me and my snow bunny split a $6 burger and asked for a few French fry samples. I would have been more disappointed if I spent $10 on a lack luster combo meal.

What!? You DIDN’T like fat burger!? You must have just gone to a bad one. And, it sounds like you didn’t get an egg on yours, that’s their specialty, it’s pretty dang good.
