“No more shark fin soup for you!”
Like the saying goes, there are plenty fish in the sea. In her case, there are plenty of sharks in the sea.
Let me explain more. Shark fin soup is a delicacy in Asia, revered since it symbolized prestige and wealth. In the Chinese cuisine, rare means luxurious. Other delicacy includes sea cucumber and bear paws.
A business dinner would be a suitable example of when shark fin soup is served.
But if the last bowl runs out, you will never catch me complaining looking like a cockroach.

I didn’t realize you were the former food writer for AsianWeek–honestly, the food section was what I liked the most because it was the best written and the main reason why I’d read the newspaper. I’m totally loving your blog too.

That’s Siu Yee, a famous HK radio talk show host. She was doing this to mock that other lady at the airport who missed her flight.

It’s a parody of the crazy HK lady at the airport, and to bring awareness to shark fin harvesting.
