Once I arrived, we gathered our family and went to a classic, Boston Restaurant in Wan Chai. Ever since I was five years old, this restaurant had been our gather spot. This establishment has been around for over forty year, making it one of the first Western dining spots.
With a sweet tangy tomato sauce, my pork chop was on par (~$7USD). Despite having tender pork meat, the overall dish lacked character. The complete dish was made up of just rice, sauce, and meat. A few bites of corn or broccoli would have enhanced the dish.
Boston Restaurant is more famous for their sizzling steak. My uncle’s order appeared to deliver.
In Hong Kong, a 10% service charge is added to the bill and tipping is at your discretion.
Dining at Western restaurants, the menu reads both English and Chinese.
Last time I arrived in Hong Kong, Wan Chai has changed. New service apartment (ones that are fully furnished for leasing) and restaurant with a colonial modern mix have arrived.
Wan Chai represents what Hong Kong is truly about, a fusion of many design types and culture. The old mixes well with the new. The newly build luxury apartment is located steps away from a farmers market in an ally way.
