Honeymoon Dessert: Times Square Hong Kong-sweet way to end the day

Dessert plays a major role in the Hong Kong food scene. Unlike American dessert that are usually rich in butter and filled with calories (cheesecake, chocolate pie), Hong Kong desserts are meant to soothe the palate and even replenish the senses.

Located in a hi-ceiling World Trade Center in Causeway Bay, Honey Dessert pleases the eye with modern design. Black wooden chairs and vibrant easy to order menu sets the mood. Known for its strong odor, the durian mixed with grass jelly is truly an acquired taste. The sweet yet pungent durian balances well with the cool herbal grass jelly.

My ying yang (mixed flavors) dessert featured a rich nutty black sesame paste mixed with walnut paste. Mochi like balls filled with a filling adds depth and character.

Hong Kong desserts round out the day acting also as a meal to vent about work and just simply wind down in the electric city.
