Wont ton noodle is the official regional dish of Hong Kong. Look to your left or right, you’re probably only feet away from the next won ton noodle house.
But when I ask the local foodies, most suggested Mak’s noodle house.
Right after sweating in my hot yoga class, I needed to replenish my body. Noodle better than some comfort food. Located in Causeway Bay, Mak’s has become an institutional and food show host destination.
Anthony Bourdain has been here along with a long list of others.
A few locals often said “you have to eat a few bowls.”
Alright. So I had to find out myself. Arriving in a small bowl, noticeable vibrant yellow noodles are served with won ton. The composition of a great won ton noodles is as follow.
Noodles are al about texture and taste. And Mak’s is on the mark. The noodle are chewy and bathing in a savory won ton noodle soup, it is just on par. Wrapped in a thin layer of won ton skin, the filling is a plump sea sweat shrimp.
A few thinly sliced scallions and chives give the dish character.
After a few slurps of the noodles and a few bites of won ton, it is no wonder people can eat a
few bowls.
