Sapporo Japanese Restaurant

Known as a popular ramen place, Sapporo Japanese Restaurant sits firmly on Exchange Square in Central district Hong Kong. One step into the restaurant, the signs of a good ramen places are evident.
The loud slurps from noodles to aromatic smells from pork bones brewing in the broth.
Soft wooden tables and racing jerseys hang in the back drop give a few dashes of charm points.
Pan fried to a golden brown, the pot stickers made a good starter. With a cool dip into the sweet mayonnaise, the fried squid fried with a thin lawyer of seaweed is a must order. The chewy texture just goes so well with the crispy thin batter.
With sweet notes, the miso ramen was on par. The seaweed added character and sea flavors. But playing center stage, thin slices of roasted pork bathing in a milky broth made up the pork ramen. Bamboo shoots add a garden fresh crunch.
I tried the version with butter which added more texture to the broth. This clearly was a mistake since my stomach just did not digest the butter well.
As a ramen fanatic, my top two picks is still Santa Ramen in San Mateo and Santouka.
