In America, the fast food wars belong to McDonald’s and Burger King. In Hong Kong, the battle is between Café de Coral and Fairwood.

If a restaurateur wants to gain critical mass and have a restaurant that can expand throughout Hong Kong, the menu must cater to the taste of the local Hong Kong people.

After an intense game at Southorn Playground in Wan Chai Hong Kong, I hip hop over to Fairwood. Their brightly orange color restaurants catches the eye. Their afternoon tea bbq pork special (~$3.50 USD) is a great choice.

With a sweet honey glaze, tender bbq pork sits on top of a mound of pillowy rice. The imitation shark fin soup warms the stomach. Finishing off the meal, the lemon tea refreshing the palate on a tart note.
