Ba Shu Feng: Deliscious Spicy Schenzhen Meal in Shenzhen

“Damm, that’s really good.”

It was worth the trip. I had taken an early morning bus ride, from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, China. Once I arrived at Ba Shu Feng, I started to whet my palate just by looking at the vibrant dishes from different tables.

The easy to order menu was gigantic, filled with prices and food photos – most items were moderately prices. Being on the adventurous track, I ordered a leafy salad that had strong earth tones. Literally, the leaves smelled like Golden Gate Park drizzled with chili oil.

The bitter salad cooled the palate. A better choice was the stir fried string beans with a crunchy texture. With an addicting chili sauce, the pork dish called for a few bowls of pillowy
white rice.

Stealing the show, the mao pao tofu was just wonderful. Vibrant red hues made up the chili sauce that combined savory and sweet notes, marrying so well with velvety tofu.

As my tongue was on fire, my appetite was enjoying an exciting roller coaster ride.
