Himawari serves Japanese comfort food and does it well.

With a minimalist décor, the restaurant is a great place for a cozy dinner. Pots and pans clamor from the open kitchen.

A great starter is the shrimp tempura sushi roll. Nutty notes from the fried shrimp is embraced with sushi rice that is seasoned perfectly. Playing center stage, the ramen with pork served in a milky broth send me to comfort food heaven.

Thin noodles bathes in a savory broth. We ended up paying $30 including tax and tip for two.

From observing adjacent tables, other dish such as the poke look rather enticing.

My favorite ramen in the Bay Area is still Santa Ramen featuring their milky pork broth and ramen.
