I am a ramen whore, what can I say.

Ramen is my choice for comfort food. Slurping noodles bathing in a savory broth just makes my day.

On a recent visit to Santa Ramen which I consider one of the top ramen restaurants in the Bay Area, I ordered ramen with cod roe.

Salted cod roe ($4 extra) are masses of eggs and have a crunchy savory texture. The savory tones from the cod roe just round out the Santa Ramen signature pork bone broth and excel it to another level.

Other forms of roe include sea urchin with is one of my favorite nigiri sushi orders.
