As a former restaurant consultant, we always try to create loss leaders. Loss leaders are food items that will lose money or break even but is promoted to attract traffic through the doors. The strategy is to get customers to order the promotional items all with other menu items at full price.

Last Tuesday, I arrived at Popeyes for their Tuesday Two Piece Special (leg + thigh) for $.99.

I thought this is a great deal along with a cult of fried chicken lovers creating a mile long line during lunch time.

After waiting thirty minutes in line, I was ready for comfort food paradise. Just one light bite, the well seasoned savory crust shattered. The meat was both tender and moist.

For a flavor roller coaster, order the spicy as oppose to the mild.
My order of beans and rice just rounded out the comfort food meal.

Tip: Either arrives at opening or late lunch for the Tuesday Two Piece special
