Umm. Why did’t I think of that?
When a menu stimulates your mind and makes your palate sing, then you have a clear winner.

Simplicity and innovation are rarely seen in restaurants but Momofuku debunks this.

The restaurant design featuring smooth edges and minimalist décor is refreshing and attractive. Moreover, the design allows the diners to focus on the food and kitchen ware.

Clearly, not a detail is missed from a simple yet distinctive menu. We had a party of six and had the joy of tasting several outstanding dishes.

The full experience can be found in Campusfork’s Momofuku tasting menu pictures.

But there are a few worth highlighting.

The house special are the pork buns whichare amazing. Layers of fat just enough to provide flavor marries well with tender meat. A dash of sweet hoisen sauce rounds out the dish. A burn layer of crust just adds a solid dimension.

Another notable mention is the parsnip soup that is creamy yet light on the palate.

The roasted rice cake is all about texture. With a soft middle and crispy outside, the cakes bathe is a sweet and sour sauce.

However, there were obvious misses. The Momofuku ramen lacked execution. The broth lacked lack nutty notes and simple the taste was flat.

Try Ippudo, king of ramen in NYC and you can instantly taste the difference.
