Living in Hong Kong, I miss eating gourmet cheese and chocolate that I found readily at a great price in San Francisco. Citysuper is a gourmet super market that cares about delivering quality products at a marked up price.

I tried their boxed sushi and it was good, but not great. When purchasing boxed sushi, look for fresh red colors in tuna and vibrant orange in salmon.

Whether you’re looking for a prized piece of wagyu beef or fresh sashimi, trek to Citysuper and shop around. They also have a fresh bakery and carry an international selection of food products.

This time around, I hip hopped around the City Super in IFC. Notable finds include Japanese marbled beef, fresh sashimi, and rack of lamb.

Poaching an eggs is all about technique. Gently pouring a cracked egg into boiling water is key. I do not like putting the egg in iced water since this brings down the temperature of the egg.

Gordon Ramsey shows us how to make a simple sauce that pairs well with savory breast. On a recent trip to Chapeau in San Francisco, I spent around $30 for duck breast.
Now, I want to try this recipe.

“No more shark fin soup for you!”

Like the saying goes, there are plenty fish in the sea. In her case, there are plenty of sharks in the sea.

Let me explain more. Shark fin soup is a delicacy in Asia, revered since it symbolized prestige and wealth. In the Chinese cuisine, rare means luxurious. Other delicacy includes sea cucumber and bear paws.

A business dinner would be a suitable example of when shark fin soup is served.
But if the last bowl runs out, you will never catch me complaining looking like a cockroach.

Enjoy the famous Seinfield “No soup for you!” clip.

Hot tempered chef personality Gordon Ramsey cooks up a mouth-watering steak. I like how the video is shot at lightening speed yet it communicates the use of main ingredients.
Side note. A few years ago, I auditioned for Hell’s Kitchen and got through the second round.
